I am meaning to make a monthly list of what I read and share it to invite you all to discuss any specific books you've read that are on it. I forgot to share it on time, but here is July's list. I have only started doing it, in the future I shall try to date each one.
The idea is that I will do a monthly reflection on the material and any connections between them and so on, in public, so as to discuss with others who have read the books. I shall add more to this thread if anything strikes me later.
It is a nice habit to get into, because I wish to catalog them permanently just to keep track. Some of them are PDFs so I don't have even them laying around to remind me I read them.
The Houellebecq and Ballard paired well together.

The Spengler was kind of over dramatic, hyperbolic but very well written.
"Optimism is cowardice" was a good line, and very true in light of all positive historical predictions. Maybe 'optimism is complacency' would have been better though.
