I’m fortunate that my Dad, Croydon born & bred, + my Mum’s family, also Croydon born & bred, brought me up supporting #cpfc. I say fortunate - it’s usually a curse. But having been born in Beckenham & living my early years in Addiscombe, they wanted me to support my local team.
There are some kids who don’t have a father figure or other family to encourage them to support their local team. They might be black & from Croydon, & their first childhood hero be John Barnes so support Liverpool. I totally get that.
I love the fact I support Palace & it means something as it’s where all my family are from. But as an adult, I don’t really see the need for the dick swinging about being a better football fan than others because you support your local team. I’m sure people have their reasons.
Don’t get me wrong - when there are people on here telling you they never go to games but it means as much to them, call them out for talking bollocks. By all means.
