Lesbian women can sleep with men for a variety of reasons.

Denial: some women aren’t ready to accept their sexuality yet and so they will keep sleeping with men to prove to themselves and the world that they are straight.

Fear: society does not accept us! So women will continue to sleep with men in the hopes that their sexuality can “change”

Yes society has brainwashed many to believe this is possible.

Money: some lesbian women may work as sex workers and part of the job includes sleeping with men. It puts food on the table.

Compulsive heterosexuality: heterosexuality is ASSUMED AND ENFORCED by patriarchal and heteronormative societies.

Experimenting: you know when people say “how do you know you don’t like it if you haven’t tried it”

Some lesbian women will have sex with men to be confirm their sexuality.

Misidentification: some women will identify as lesbian because straightforward. They may actually be gender queer, bisexual, gender fluid, bi-curious, bi-sexual, questioning etc.

This however does not take away from the fact that they are still attracted to the same sex.

So before you make jokes and kiki and try to invalidate women’s experiences. Take time to understand the dynamics that surround our lifestyle especially considering the communities we live in.
And take into consideration that you most likely can’t relate because of your privilege
