BEFORE YOU SELL YOUR SOVEREIGNTY
Use of the brain is also a sovereignty. A unique set among us learn like cows. All that the cow behind in the herd knows is in the head of the cow in front. And what makes the cow in front look wise is its ability to put up the dandiest show off.
Who amongst us has seen the fine details of China's infrastructure loans that made some us conclude Nigeria has conceded its sovereignty? Whatever it is, I can assure all that its likely going to be nothing close to the inimical clauses of English Premiership football contracts.
Football contract is on a lighter note. What should worry us are the inimical clauses of America's Arms Purchase Agreements. Globally, China is working to gain regional influence through Debt-Trap Diplomacy. If its about sovereignty, China would have used Congo to plant Cocoyam.
China's loan for trains is an extension of its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). You all need to read about it to see Nigeria isn't so central to China's scheme of things. We are perhaps lucky to have been considered due to other permutations that may be waste of time sharing here.
Italy also signed for China's loan, but our sisters running things and brothers washing corpse in Italy are ready to sell their sovereignty with that of Italy. 😀
Is it govt that also sold the sovereignty of Nigerians roaming the streets of Guangzhou? https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-47679760
When its convenient, our data supremacists use Chad and Ghana to shade Nigeria. Where Chad's debt to China stands, China can decide to use the whole of Chad to cultivate weed. If Nigeria did what Ghana did, you'd have heard, "Buhari, na ogun go kill your papa." What did Ghana do?
China also gave $20 billion infrastructure loan to Guinea, in exchange for 20yrs access to Guinea's bauxite ore! Madness! 😂
China has provided $143 billion infrastructure loans across Africa. Nigeria is the only country in Africa that didn't concede any of its natural resources.
China has "kolobi" South Africa's coal finish. For Siemens power project that we provided N8.7Billion cash counterpart funding for, South Africa solely relied on China for R33Billion for Eskom.
Nigerians, we need to be proud. We aren't there yet, but we aren't what we use to be.
