This is the kind of shit I fucking hate. I grew up on food stamps in the projects. I worked my ass off for every penny I have, which isn’t a lot, and which supports me and my parents.

With the deals, bulk shopping and baking at home, this cost less than $20.

I am thankfully pretty financially stable now. I am far from wealthy. I have massive student and medical debt. I will probably never be out of debt. I have no inherited wealth.

I am not a rich person.

This kind of thinking also just enforces all the bullshit tropes that only wealthy people deserve nice things.

Poor people wouldn’t be poor if they just gave up iPhones and McDonalds and Jordans! It has nothing to do with systems of oppression.

And to clarify, $20, for two people, and it was our lunch and dinner and we still have cornichons and crackers and almonds.
