something about the representation south asian women get in films/tv shows created by south asian men (&sometimes women 2) angers me
brown men will use the stereotypical aunty trope, or the brown accent on brown women who grew up in america
and worst of all weâre depicted as undesirable or stepping stones to them dating the white girl of their dreams +

and brown men you need to really evaluate why your idea of achieving the american dream resides in dating a white woman.
mindy kaling i hate you so much lol. ur perception of brown girls in ameica may have been true in the 80s but not today. u still perpetuate harmful stereotypes & so many of the same recycled storylines that arenât relevant or true.
this thread wasnât done well but i needed to get this off my chest bc south asian women either get no rep in western media or weâre poorly written n we are all so much more than ur 1 demension depiction of us and more importantly we are not all the same.
