#be1112 i think there’s no such thing as true originality especially after seeing the analogy of the sea shell and the sea. for even seeing how fishes swim or light bounces around a building (content) or maybe the shape of a seashell (form) is still getting ‘inspiration’ (1/)
also i think that a common flack given is that ‘designs are becoming more homogenous around the globe’ yet KML made me realise is that we can differentiate the city skylines... but why is this such a problem? #be1112 (2/)
every city airport circulation SHOULD be the same so that we know how to navigate even though maybe... we don’t know the languge, because similar to nature, all humans have certain, predictable actions. #be1112 (3/)
now, i’m not going to pretend like i had an idea what KML was saying - i don’t, and it’s definitely bothering me. but one thing i must say is that when he started talking about form and content then diverted to interdependence and barely touched the surface.. #be1112 (4/)
my point is that i don’t think he really dived into interdependence and individuality but rather he just made sweeping statements and jokes and i hated this TED talk. #be1112 (5/)
what i found really funny is that he drew a parallel to music. why? because ping was saying that parallels can be drawn from anything especially when talking about form a which is exactly what KML said.. #be1112 (6/)
i realise that all people are guilty of trying to be someone else, that everyone like it or not practices mimicry. #be1112 (/7)
ps this thread is unusually long but i don’t look up to KML as much as ping or some of you do.. so please don’t take offence in anything i say
