Why Bondrewd is a phenomenal antagonist, and an Incredible Character, A thread.
(Made In Abyss Manga Spoilers ahead)

Bondrewd the Novel, The Lord of dawn, Or Simply Bondrewd. Whatever you call him there is one thing for sure. He is a monster. We are first introduced to Bondrewd from Ozen, Who tells us that he is insane, along with the other White whistles that lay deeper within the abyss.

She warns Riko and Reg about him, Warning that he is not like her.

We learn more about him from Nanachi, After describing who and what she is too Reg and Riko, She explains her tale of suffering and what Bondrewd has done to her and her friend Mitty. And it is here, we learn just how terrifying he really is.

He would take Kids, Orphans, And send them to the bottom of the abyss and bring them back to the top to experiment on the effects of Ascending in the Abyss, and along the way back up they would either not make it or become Hollows, Animal like beings with only their soul left.

All this suffering is endured Because Bondrewd wants to find out ways to manipulate the curse of the abyss, He Does all this horrible, Inhumane and IRREDEEMABLE Stuff. In the name of science and in the name of achieving new scientific Strides.

and referring back to the The Garden he had mentioned earlier, We finally get a look at it in Idofront..

A Garden of Children, Hollows.

He truly does care about these kids. Remembering all their names and what they were like before they were hollows too, But he experiments on them without remorse or a second thought. He is without a doubt a complete monster.

Later in Idofront we learn of Cartridges he uses to avoid the curse of the abyss, What are these Cartridges you may be wondering, They are Cartridges of his Children. His experiments, They are still alive and stripped of everything in their bodies except the essential body parts

The cartridges go until the child gives out and the cartridge pops out and spills what is left of the child onto the ground.

and he evens turns His own daughter into a cartridge. Just to survive the Abyss.

Bondrewd is the definition of a Monster. He is a horrible, Horrible Man. And could never atone for what he has done. and yet, at the same time he's an extremely Fascinating Character. Both a genuinely loving father and a very messed up Scientist. Bondrewd is an Amazing Character.
