"denying trans women access to female bathrooms is like white women denying bathroom access to black women"

a thread on why this claim is not only false, but incredibly racist.

1. white women denied access to black women through the false claim they were "dirty" and their water would not be pure. women deny access to trans women as a bathroom is a vulnerable place with only one entrance and exit, and biological men are on average much stronger.

2. 98% of assaults are committed by people with penises, and 92% of rape victims have vaginas. a bathroom is a vulnerable space with only one entrance and exit.

3. equating black and poc women with biological men affirms the racist belief that we are less feminine than white women, and dark skin = masculinity

4. this also affirms the racist belief that we are as biologically different to white women as people with penises are to people with vaginas. you're suggesting our entire internal reproductive systems and external genetallia are different to that of white women.

5. black and poc women have struggled for CENTURIES to be seen as women in the eyes of eurocentric society. saying biological men who perform femininity well enough are the same as black and poc women is incredibly racist.
