On June 1 there were 6 people in hospital and 1 in ICU
There were 4 new cases that day including 1 close contact of the Rydges outbreak which had grown to 8

The cluster was a hint that all was not well in the hotel quarantine system

By June 20th cases had continued to pop up across Melbourne
The total had risen to 1817 with 110 active cases and 200 with no known source
25 new cases were announced with 14 attached to outbreaks, 6 from routine testing and only 1 in hotel quarantine

Stamford outbreak was at 5, the second cluster related to hotel quarantine

Two AC facilities had single cases in residents on June 20

That should have set alarm bells ringing as to the potential risk developing in the AC area

Hospital numbers were still low at 6

By June 22 there had been 120 cases in the preceding 7 days
There were now 9 in hospital and 2 in ICU

June 23 marked the seventh consecutive day of double digit daily new cases

On June 25 the government announced a testing blitz across 10 key suburbs

A number of family clusters were growing
Brimbank family outbreak was at 5
The Keilor Downs family cluster numbered 19 across 8 households
Number of active cases was at 163

June 28 there were 49 new cases
Among them a staff member at RMH ED

June 29

75 new cases and only 1 was linked to hotel quarantine
Growing family clusters in Nth Melb, Brimbank, Truganina
Stamford Plaza cluster had climbed at 23
A number of schools were being impacted

June 30
64 new cases, all local
Active cases 321
9 in hospital and 1 in ICU

The Stamford Plaza outbreak increased to 29
2 additional staff had tested positive at Al-Taqwa marking the early days of what would be a very large cluster
