First-Things-Firstist
People ask me why we dont propagandize our locals and its because we put first things first.

Full bellies and strong bones lead to sharp minds. Sharp minds ask questions.

Answers that come before questions only hit a fraction as hard. Well planted things don't get displaced.
The lofty rests on the planted. The delicate flower rests on a base of roots.

Without the roots there is no flower.
There almost always comes a time when I'm sitting there dialoguing with someone after a service. We've usually just done them a huge aid or something.

They go, "why do yall do this?"
That's when I'm honest.

I say I do it because I'm a Communist or a Daoist, depending on my mood, and it's my belief that we can as a class run our own lives and build a world that serves us and not the people who fuck us up everyday.
I do it because I believe in you.

I believed in you before I met you.

I believed that if provided the tools and materials you will order your own life in a way that best suits you, without harming yourself or others.
When the question is natural and the answer is practical and rooted in my own sincere belief it hits.

That is a well planted seed. One that is less likely to dislodge. Because I let the process happen. I let it be dialogical.
The question asker was always in control. I was merely there to serve and was honest when asked.
Why can we do this?
We serve the same 50 faces every week. Every couple days. Sometimes every day.

We have settled into one tiny corner of Seattle and set to putting our theories and plans into concrete reality.
We arent drive-thru mutual aid. We are contiguous with the community we serve. We dont do our 5 8s and clock out for the week.

We are here, constantly. The merger of our broad political knowledge and the particular knowledge of the people is process driven by communing.
