all of the troopers around him are wearing white. gone are the 501st blue and the 212th gold. gone are the special marks the men made on their armor to make them stand out, to show the world their originality. they all blend together now. but vader can tell which ones were

his and obi-wan’s men. he always can. he tries to forget, tries to not notice, but he can’t help it. it’s second-nature. he’s the only one left to carry their memory... but sometimes, most times, it hurts too much and he’d rather forget.
