Science Twitter is going nuts over a white professor allegedly pretending to be a queer Indigenous woman and shutting it down by having the account 'die of COVID', and with my fandom hat on it's just like...oh, this again

not that we weren't all scandalised and fascinated by the various fandom sockpuppet dramas but the modus operandi of identity-as-defense and attempting a dramatic exit? so not new

anyway I'm gonna rate this whole thing 6/10 for dedication to the act over a fairly long period, given the number of RL people I know who were sad about the 'death', 2/10 for originality
