Ok comrades, I need your help. I want to go document the protests from my perspective. @cascadianphotog has for whatever crazy reason decided it's cool if I tag along with my really awful sense of humor.
So I have these binaural mics that let me record the 3d sound -- the way we all really hear it on the ground. Some day, I'd love to stream this with video (I'll need someone to point that camera!) but for now I'm starting with the fancy recording.
The issue is that I need an experienced and confident guide comrade. I need a person out with me who knows the lay of the land, and can be extra vigilant -- able to look out for themselves and me.
Others in our group are rad, but are struggling to juggle cameras and livestreams and chatting with the viewers and watching the backs of the camera person *and* make sure I don't face plant into a tree while we're running...
... and this is where I can use the help.
I've been chatting with the amazing comrades at @PDXAccessible , and we're going to put together a group of Guide comrades for the Blind.
The goal being if I (or any other blind people who want to go out but aren't!) feel like going out tonight or some other night, the limiting factor *isn't* the lack of an available set of eyeballs.
In my case, my guide comrade should be someone comfortable around all the cameras. We do strive never to show faces. But we're almost always recording/streaming. So conversations will be overheard and it's always possible a face will inadvertently be captured.
If this sounds like something you'd like to help out with, get in touch with @PDXAccessible. They are as I said helping put together this team of badass guide comrades.
And of course if you know any blind or low vision comrades who want to go out but aren't because they don't have any reliable eyeballs (reliaballs?), you should also let them know about @PDXAccessible
