I think potentially a good model for a socialist democracy could be one that is quasi-representative and quasi-direct.

Representatives don't earn anything more than, as Lenin puts it, a "workman's wage" but any issue that the people want to vote on directly they...
...can activate a constitutional mechanism (say, a majority ballot of people in 1/3 of nationwide constituencies via electronic democracy) that allows a direct referendum on the issue, with the people deciding directly the question posed & the answer given which then becomes law
This could act as a mechanism to ensure the representatives don't become disconnected, with easily accessible mechanisms to recall those representatives at any time as well giving the people directly the power to overrule their representative on an issue
In fact, if a majority of a representatives constituency vote to vote on an issue directly, should there fail to be 1/3 of constituencies that do the same, they can hold a constituency referendum where the result becomes the vote cast by that representative on that issue.
I'm not of the philosophy that total direct democracy is ideal, for I think issues would arise with regards to fatigue for the citizenry (having a hard day's work and then coming home to read about legislation going forward and work out exactly what is the best option)
A mixture of representative democracy and direct democracy would mean that representatives act effectively as an autopilot body of the demos, with the people having the option at any time on any issue to directly take over and choose a policy themselves.
This would mean that representatives would exist to scrutinize the fine print of very mundane pieces of legislation, but should the people in their constituency take particular interest in any issue or policy then they can choose for themselves at any time.
If this was in place within the United States, there would already be socialised healthcare, legalised marijuana and much tighter gun control as well as higher taxes on the rich.

Capitalists are *deathly* afraid of letting the people vote directly on issues.
Lmao this was definitely not as punchy as my other threads but oh well
OH ANOTHER THING

Citizens should be able to address the chamber of their representatives directly. Like a Prime Ministers Question type thing, but where the people can walk in off the street, take the podium or the dispatch box and push to get something on the agenda directly
Imagine what uproar there would be if the citizen was capable of walking into the House of Representatives or the Senate and berating their representatives or demanding an issue be placed on the agenda, or even raising attention to a looked-over issue
