Dropshipping 101

For complete newbies

Dropshipping is selling a product you never actually see

When someone buys from your website, you buy the product from the supplier for cheaper

I only sell products $1,000 or more
Step 1: Official business

The barrier to entry to this model is higher than Aliexpress dropship

You’re gonna need an LLC to secure relationships with USA suppliers

FYI benefits of having an LLC go way beyond dropshipping
2. Suppliers

You’re securing legit relationships with established USA manufacturers

Once approved you get access to wholesale dealer margins

Call and say you want to be an online retailer for them

(Online retailer sounds much better than ‘I wanna dropship your products’)
Suppliers Cont.

I recommend starting supplier research at Wayfair

Wayfair is low key majority dropship

Our goal is to build a mini version of Wayfair (minus the sex trafficking of course)

We look for suppliers with no more than 10 Google retailers and MAP policy
3. Products

I won’t close a supplier if most of their products aren’t ATLEAST $1,000

People ask what product types I know sell...Ive seen everything be sold so don’t put any limited beliefs on what you can sell

It’s more about the individual supplier than the product type
Products Cont.

There’s no such thing as saturated product types, just saturated suppliers

Combine thinking outside the box with thinking inside the box —If that makes sense

I’ve sold products as expensive as $35,000 for ONE sale
4. Advertising

GOOGLE ADS

When advertising on FB, you need tricks and tips to get customers attention (ppls main objective isn’t to shop on FB)

People will literally search Google for the product you sell

FB-you go to customers
Google- customer go to you

I retarget on FB
Ads Cont.

2 campaigns

Generic Vs branded

Generic-people searching ‘kitchen refrigerator’

Branded- (supplier name) refrigerator’

Branded is much warmer traffic as people already know the brand product they want

Branded should always outspend the generic for that reason
5. Misc.

Obviously with more expensive products there’s more customer service

We have an (800) # people can call and get forwarded to your cell phone

As well as live chats and email

ABC- Always Be Closing
Misc. Cont.

Suppliers handle warranty requesrs and returns

Suppliers usually give margins as little as 20% as much as 40%

MAP—Minimum Advertising Price
->Helps level the playing field so no retailers undercut each other

Best suppliers enforce MAP
Summed up:

•USA suppliers
•Expensive products
•Google Ads
•Business can be outsourced when the time comes
