See this is stupid. I agree that children should be allowed on the internet. But imagine thinking that people 20+ should be the ones with “designated spaces”.
Adults are the majority on the internet, you are only 13-18 for FIVE YEARS. 5. A lot of teenagers on twitter seem to suddenly think that just because they have a right to be safe means that they are the ones that should have control over the content
A majority of online content, from YouTube videos, websites such as twitter, and fan content are created by adults. You wouldn’t have twitter or any social media if everyone 20+ got wiped off the internet.
Like imagine seeing teenagers fighting for their human rights, and being the one that’s like “my activism is gonna be doxxing creators and harassing (mostly minority) creators online over anime art!!!” Id be so EMBARRASSED
The internet should in fact, be safe for children, there should definitely be safe spaces for people under 18 online. People seem to think that twitter is 17+ when it’s not, 13+ are allowed on her and they Do have a right to be safe
But under 18 accounts need to understand that they are the minority on this website, you only think your not because you’re mostly around people your age
Also note them saying 20+ not 18+. This is starting to become a trend with certain people who are about to age out of what is considered being a minor so they are trying to make it seem like online you are a minor up until you’re 20/21
Teenagers apparently have stopped being taught about internet safety which is weird. Like idk why they think they have free reign online when that has literally never been the case
You being allowed into a space doesn’t mean you control it
