Doing pixelart in Aseprite really has shown me just how much I rely on the canvas zoom/rotate in clip, no wonder I struggle so much with anatomy
I kinda want to expand on this since I've been thinking about it and I imagine some people might wonder why using zoom/rotate might cause me to struggle with anatomy and stuff
Since I started drawing I've always HEAVILY relied on zooming/rotating the canvas when I work on my sketches since I struggle drawing at certain angles. So rather than actually trying to get better I just took those shortcuts, and it worked, sometimes.
The thing is, when you're zoomed in on certain parts of a drawing you lose the ability to reference proportions against other parts of the drawing. Lets say you're drawing an arm and you zoom in on it the whole time you're drawing it, you can't know how big that arm is against-
-the rest of the drawing because you can't SEE the rest of the drawing, and that's always been a part of my problem.

When it comes to rotating the primary issue I've found is that the orientation I draw stuff becomes skewed, it's harder to tell what angle to draw something-
-at because the rest of the drawing now looks completely different, which can really throw me off especially during studying.
I should mention I'm by no means trying to say "You should NEVER rotate/zoom your canvas it's EVIL!" just that in my experience, at least when you're doing your base anatomy sketch it's better to use both as little as possible. If using them both works for you, that's fine!
I'm mainly sharing this for people like me who struggle a lot with proportions and anatomy even when doing studies so they might be able to see if this is their issue as well.

I like sharing the things I learn as I study and practice so it might help others as well.
To add one last thing onto this, I mainly came to this realisation because I noticed that my pixelart has been my favourite stuff I've done in terms of proportions and also my most consistent. Which, considering I don't use zoom/rotate for it, doesn't feel like a coincidence.
