I don't have much time for the SNP or a lot of nats ( @lituainianach & co. excepted), but I find it hard to see how you can consider independent Scotland unfeasible or unable ever to flourish while also being aware of the existence of the Republic of Ireland
This isn't even a tweet with an Indy position as such, it's more noting that in the IndyRef debate, as in the Brexit debate, Brits are managing to memory hole the Extremly Relevant country directly next door
Like, 'Scotland will run out of oil'...ok... Ireland never had any, yet we're still higher on the HDI than the UK now because we're no longer run by a small club of inbred schoolboys who don't give a toss about us, but by ourselves
I'd like to see arguments against scottish indy that wouldn't work equally well as arguments against Irish indy in 2020, given the *only* country the UK borders is in fact a small celtic country which left the union and is doing well out of it and this... never gets mentioned?
