I didn’t interact with this account, but recognized the handle when I saw this yesterday, and almost all her twitter friends now say they believe she and her death were a hoax. Anyone who would catfish with the make-believe life & death of a Native professor is cruel.

The college campus has always been a scary place to be a Native woman and it hurt to hear about this death, especially as I think about the Native friends & relatives & colleagues going back to campus—I’m not this fall, because of a heightened risk that did not come from nowhere.
