The US Census Bureau provided data on the median household income of 97 different American "ancestry groups" (Russian, Ghanaian, Pakistani, etc.).

55 groups earn above the median American household income and 41 groups earn below the median.
Of the 55 groups with median household income above the American household median, 35 are "white," in the very most generous possible interpretation of whiteness, and 20 are non-white.
At 17% of all white Americans, German Americans are the largest white ancestry group. There are 45 ancestry groups that have greater median household income than German Americans. Of those 45, 14 are non-white.
At 12% of all white Americans, Irish Americans are the next largest white ancestry group of white Americans. Irish Americans are out-earned in median household income by 46 groups, of which 14 are non-white.
At 9% of all white Americans, English Americans are the next largest white ancestry group. They are outearned by 83 groups, of which 39 are non-white.
Our country was the political creation of English colonists. It was populated during the 19th century largely by Germans. But only German Americans are in the 55 groups that earn above the median, while English Americans sit well below the median, 84th place out of 97 places.
In fact, English Americans are the lowest earning white group.

One possible conclusion is that America is a "white supremacist" country but that white supremacy has been a failure for those whom it was supposed to enrich, empower, and protect.
Another possible conclusion is that this is an open society in which anyone can do well and that the disparities we see have to do with extremely complex interactions of history, culture, and geography.
