6 am to 7 am
ballerinas get up and start their day early to squeeze in a morning workout. this is the perfect time to go on a little morning run and then get started on your stretching routine to loosen up your muscles.

at this time i would usually rush through showering and getting ready to get to school at 7:30 which meant i didn’t have much time for breakfast so i would usually just grab an apple or banana or some other fruit (along with my morning coffee)

this is the time for school or work if you have it. if not you can just set yourself some productive projects to do in that time and work on those. it’s important to keep your mind occupied during the day or you might turn to snacking

1 pm
lunchtime! this is a really important meal because it’s going to give you the energy to get through dance class. i would usually bring something easy with lots of protein like a salad with some chicken or chopped boiled eggs on it (or tofu if you’re vegan)

1:30 pm to 3 pm
this is the time to finish up school or work. i tried to get as much homework done during lunch or free periods as possible while eating so i didn’t have much to do after school. i would also plan what i had to do the next day.

dance classes. most ballerinas have a variety of classes from technique to pointe to rehearsals for shows. each class will be between 1 to 2 hours with breaks in between. find some follow along barre classes online or ballet workouts. really work your muscles.

dinner. im usually really hungry after a long afternoon of class so i go for something filling but easy like a veggie sandwich or low cal microwave meal. eat as slowly as you can and wait to get full. while i eat i would do a little ice foot bath and heating pad.

i would use this time to finish up any work and then do my skincare and stretching and muscle rolling before bed. it’s important to take time to decompress after class and take care of the aches and pains.

this is the time i get in bed and try to avoid my phone by reading for a while. i usually fall asleep sometime around 10 which just gives me enough time to get the 8 hours of sleep i need to get through the next day.

weekend
on the weekend i sleep in maybe an hour later and since i didn’t have class i do some strength training or pilates exercises and tidy up all the little tasks i need to do to prepare for the next week like sewing shoes or doing laundry or homework.
