10 steps to monetize Twitter and win BIG at affiliate marketing

1) What's affiliate marketing?

Promoting product/service you don’t own

Like Wal-Mart you can make $ selling other people’s offers

Your twitter/email list/other platforms = your digital store

You can also think of affiliate marketing as “information drop shipping”

Just like with ecommerce physical products…

You don’t need to buy inventory and resell..

Simply promote offers through your unique affiliate link

2) The best and most ethical way to find affiliate offers

Is to be a happy customer of the product yourself

Creators want affiliates

And your audience wants your recommendations

Never promote anything you don't personally use and get results from

3) Where to find affiliate offers besides Gumroad

Clickbank
Teachables
ShareASale
Rakuten
CJ Affiliate

Disclosure: I haven't personally used all of these

Also look at companies themselves (for example, I'm an aff for Gorilla Mind nootropics)

4) When should you start selling?

Wrong question

The right question is: how big is your *addressable audience?*


Follower count is obviously a good indicator

The full answer is about your total reach: how many eyeballs across platforms can you put your offer in front of?

How big an audience you need is relative to the price of your offer

For high-ticket offers

You could sell a 10K offer to 1% of a 500 audience

And earn 25K if the commission is 50%

Most people reading this are selling lowed priced, gumroad products

You know where this is going: you need plenty of eyeballs

If your total audience is 3000 and 3% buy a $49 offer (you get 50%)

That’s only $2205.

The point? GROW YOUR AUDIENCE

I'm not saying you need to wait for a specific audience size to start selling

But expecting "passive income" from a small addressable market is insanity

As you grow your audience, keep a 20/1 ratio of value tweets to promotion

But you can subtly promote an offer in every email

5) When you promote on Twitter, tweets with links don't get as many impressions

Solution:
use link in bio
use pinned tweet
attach the offer to the 2nd tweet of a viral tweet

For pinned tweet offers specifically:

* Excellent idea to use video / photos to make it pop


* Copywriting is key here


* Speak to the hyper specific pain / desire of your customer avatar

6) If you are promoting multiple offers, it's a good idea to create a simple landing page

* Dropfunnels (Clickfunnels, but cheaper and faster)

7) Traffic Sources

Twitter is great (obviously) but don't sleep on other platforms to drive traffic/get eyeballs

Pinterest, blogging (especially ver niche sites), Instagram and YouTube

I'm not going to go into depth about paid ads or influencers here, but they can CRUSH

8) Your playbook to sell multiple affiliate offers to the same buyer

Map their problem journey / desire evolution

If someone bought a fitness program, they need a meal plan

Don't be afraid to mix info and physical products

In this example, how about Apple Watch accessories?

9) Email marketing is how you sell multiple offers to the same buyer

And how you reduce your cost of acquisition from paid ads and influencers

Avoid MailChimp, they hate affiliate marketers

I like ConvertKit but GetResponse, Aweber or ActiveCampaign are all solid choices

10) Affiliate disclosure and etiquette

Always disclose you're an affiliate!

NEVER drop your affiliate link on someone’s else tweets or content unless you have a prior agreement to do it
