re: my Instagram poll, I just find it fascinating how many of us will further our education past a bachelors degree! that just was not a thing in past decades especially not for women! and whether it’s financially motivated or not is another question for capitalism currently :/
I for one, just love to learn and research and the masters or PhD would just be a bonus for me BUT I know some people feel the need to extend their education to place themselves in a higher salary bracket for a job and that’s just so interesting to me
some people need it to work their “dream career” like a doctor or therapist, lawyer, etc but I feel as though our generation is FEELING the financial pressure... i.e, college loans, rising home prices, inflation, health insurance and competitive job market...
like to function in society costs an arm and a leg nowadays and college admissions and education is already often reserved for the more privileged and affluent— I just cannot see how people CANNOT see American capitalism as an issue
