When describing a person, a woman is a person with the gender identity of woman.

Gender is each individual's relationship with the sex of their body, with the sexes of humans, and with the culture that has emerged from sex and sex diversity.
Gender identity is the label and summary of somebody's gender in the same way that the terms gay, straight, bisexual, asexual, are labels and identities to summarize someone's sexual orientation and feelings of attraction to other people.
The gender identity of woman is the gender identity correlated to the female sex.

Sex, in turn, is one of two predominant patterns of sexual anatomy and physiology. It's important to note that they are patterns and those patterns have lots of variation and crossover.
Turns out it's not a simple question after all because of all of the variation that we naturally see,

And so a simple answer will not suffice.

Trying to define woman, for example, as "adult human female" is about as accurate as defining sex as "penis ejaculating in vagina"
