@Penrhynbirder @jonniprice @RSPBConwy here’s a little nature conservation timeline story. In 2014 I planted some native trees in my garden, one was a field maple. The little tree has grown well, and today I noticed it had become a resource for leaf-cutter bees.
I was pleased to see evidence that my efforts were helping nature, but I wanted to see the industrious little creature that was making those perfect shapes, so I waited..... Sure enough the little insect appeared and I got a quick video of it.
As it flew off with its cargo, I watched to see where it would take it. To my delight, it flew down the garden straight to the bee box which I put up in spring to provide a nest site for solitary bees. Proof that if you provide it they will come, and they will brighten your day😃
