steve and nat are at a gala and a slow love song is playing. both of them are standing off to the side looking at the dance floor and nat is swaying a little to the music. steve notices, puts his drink down, turns to her with his hand out and says, “may i have this dance?”

nat takes his hand with a smile and they walk towards the dance floor. they start dancing together, steve leading nat. to others it looks like they’ve done it many times before, but it’s their first time dancing together. they’re both surprised at how in sync they are.

steve then twirls nat with a smile on both of their faces. nat puts her head on his chest and steve looks and her and smiles. there is nothing and no one around them expect for them two dancing in this eternal moment in time.

everything was fine until everyone starts screaming and both of them look around trying to find the source of the havoc. the sound of gunshots cause them so hide behind a table and draw their weapons. steve tells nat “so much for a night out, huh?” nat smirks. getting ready to +

fight nat says,”see you in a minute”. steve and nat tag team against the shooters and successfully take them down. both of them call it in and leave in natasha’s corvette. back at home, nat turns on the radio and says with a smirk on her face,”how about we finish that dance?”

steve smiling takes her hand and starts dancing with her. nat looks up at steve and says,”i love you rogers”. looking down at nat, steve replies with,”i love you too romanoff”. steve kisses nat and just when he’s about to pull back, his alarm sounds.

he wakes up with tears in his eyes, looking at the empty spot next to him. “see you in a minute” he says, before getting up and going to work.
