Since everyone’s going ga-ga over Bihar Police DGP Gupteshwar Pandey in the SSR case & his social media videos, here’s a little shocking background info on him:

Pandey, DGP Bihar, was questioned by CBI in the abduction & murder of a 14-year-old child Navaruna Chakravarty in 2012. The little girl was kidnapped from her house & a skeleton (whose DNA matches that of the girl) was found a month later in a drain near the house.

The girl’s father claims that he had named Pandey as an accused in the crime.
He says that the abduction and murder of the child were done at the behest of the land mafia to force the family to vacate their house.

The case was transferred to the CBI in 2014 & later acche din started. Later Nitish Kumar changed his antaratma.
Incidentally, in 2009, Pandey had quit the IPS to formally join the BJP. He had taken voluntary retirement to contest elections on BJP ticket from Buxar.

When that didn’t work out, he petitioned the Nitish Kumar government, and shockingly, his retirement was reversed and he was brought back into the IPS.
