Any type of work done really well is tough. Especially if your trying to change even the smallest thing.

Over the years I’ve found people element beautiful + awe inspiring, + also anxiety inducing, painful, + hard. It’s hurt + created more tears than I ever could have predicted.
Assumptions are a killer, situations where I’ve assumed another person knows why I’m doing something I am, whilst they are assuming it’s for a totally different reasons, those miscommunications + misunderstanding have broken so much.
It’s the holding all of that, before you even get to the nitty gritty of the work, the deep work, the huge things your trying to change, the system forces that are travelling against you, the imagination + determination + endurance that all takes.
Then you have recruitment, HR, finance, cash flow, fundraising. All the while any tiny time you take a slightly bigger leap, suspicions arise, conflict emerges. Wading through this all day every day before you even get to the real work, it’s all really tough.
I ended up realising there are very few people you can be totally honest + open with about how hard some of it is and why.
I’ve definitely cried a few too many tears for people who probably didn’t even look back.
