The President of Chile put Victor Pérez, who worked for Pinochet and covered up torture & sexual abuse in Colonia Dignidad, in charge of internal security. His first decision was to go to Araucanía, where the Mapuche have been resisting the racist & oligarchic State.

Two days later, a racist mob chanting demeaning slogan against indigenous peoples, armed w/sticks, attacked the Mapuche, who were occupying municipal offices to protest lack of protection for political prisoners in the pandemic. Police didn’t stop them.

Fascism always recruits racists to engage in acts of violence against civilians. Decentralized private armies at the service of extremist anti-pluralist ends, with a state that fails to protect oppressed groups, is a sign of growing totalitarianism in society.

In the US we have seen this too often, with white supremacists shooting or running over protestors, while the President condemns “both sides”, even if mob violence only comes from the far right.

The struggle of the peoples against the oligarchic state and its fascist supporters will be rekindled, under the flag of Wallmapu.
