I’ve seen tons of people argue about mask mandates. “Wear them or you’re killing grandma!” Or “If you wear them you’re a sheep!”

I’ve been thinking about this a lot. To me it’s more of a “what will glorify Jesus and make people more open to the gospel?” matter.

Share the gospel in all situations. Glorify God in whatever you do. Christ is a bigger priority than my freedom, my political preferences, my tastes. Whatever spreads the whole gospel of Christ is what I choose.

I fear that many who fight over these matters see them as the most important thing because they are frustrated and angry about the state of our world. The problem is that as ambassadors of Christ, if all the world sees is our bitter infighting, that’s the message we preaching.

It’s not a matter of our freedom. It’s a matter of our slavery to Christ. I am not a citizen of this world. I’m a soldier in the Lord’s army, sojourning in this land.
