it doesn't mean you "chose" to be queer/trans it means you were born with attributes and inclinations that affect your attractions and self-perception, which in turn align with socially constructed identities https://twitter.com/berlinhell/status/1289888098902368258
the concept of being "born a woman" (cis or trans) infers that womanness is a biological reality. the binary of biological sex is obviously incorrect, but further there is no inherent internal sense of "gender" because gender is not a thing that exists in a newborn's brain
i was born with a self perception and inclinations of expressing/presenting myself, but that doesn't mean i was "born a woman," it means i align with the label of womanness. in an alternate society with different gender labels i would align with something else
and i would likely present myself differently as well. in many ways i present myself *in order to* align with how society defines and frames womanness. conformity is an aspect of my gender identity
