American democracy:
- weight votes to favor some over others
- treat fictional entities as people
- let the rich buy elections
- make it harder for some to vote than others
- hold elections on workdays
- invite foreign powers to interfere
- look for excuses to deregister voters

- sabotage the delivery mechanism for absentee votes
- make SOME people stand in long lines during a global pandemic
- let your leader preemptively question the results in case he doesn't win
- let legislators from his party sabotage his rivals by running corrupt investigations

- retaliate against whistleblowers & witnesses who expose the leader's wrongdoing
- let the leader abuse his power for personal profit
- let the leader turn a blind eye to your nation's enemy paying bounties for the killing of your soldiers so that the enemy will help him win

- create a system where unknown sources of funding can pay unlimited sums for advertising to attack a candidate's rival
- create a hyper partisan government agency to police elections, and deadlock it with partisans, so it remains impotent

- use outdated technology that can be hacked, avoid paper records, so the hack can never been undone
- limit yourself to only two parties so that, when one is hijacked by extreme radicals, you'll still have the loyalty of those who can't bring themselves to vote for the other

- let your leader keep conflicting financial interests so the opportunities for profiteering will keep him interested in serving your party's extremist agenda
- let him have contracts with the govt he leads, just for kicks
- garner votes by inflaming the passions of a racist mob

- spread rumors about voter fraud, even though you know there is no evidence widespread voter fraud has ever existed or could succeed
- tell everyone in the world that your system is the one pure democracy because arrogance goes a long way
- if all else fails, bomb some country
