My Summer 2020 restaurant visits, brought to you by your part-time socialite

Cottons on Vauxhall Riverside - average Caribbean food, itās not black owned so not surprised, however I chose it due to its extensive outdoor seating area which was perfect post lockdown. Their cocktails are elite and the atmosphere is lovely in summer
CocoBās in Willesden - nice Caribbean food from this black owned cafe, sad that they didnāt have the lobster on the day but, post lockdown I understand. Iāll deffo be back
Buenos Aires Steakhouse in Chiswick - accidental find after visiting Kew gardens. Good steak actually. There are few good steak places in London so well done

Gunpowder Spitalfields - donāt be put off by their limited menu - every dish is created to perfection, one of my fave places this year. Iād recommend the whole soft shell crab it is ELITE
Iām not sharing the location of this one because I basically live here and I have ops but... they do the best sourdough pizzas and I even had rosĆ© something must have been very wrong
The Ivy Asia- Iāve only ever been to the Ivy in Dubai but I wonāt compare- beautifully intricate food, some dishes a lot nicer than others- Iād recommend the soft shell crab (spot the theme here) and be wary of all the Instagram Babes clogging the toilets and the pink tree
I went back to my regular last night and forgot my plant at the bar

best believe Iām calling them today and asking them to look after it until I am back...

M - Threadneedle Street. I have finally found a replacement for CAU. Incredible steak - I had a medium rare ribeye and the waiter recommended a lovely Malbec
Took my family back to Gunpowder in Tower Bridge because I needed that soft shell crab again. Sun and good food. I am so happy
The Folly- the D&M group are known for very average food but nice aesthetics (albeit all fake plants)
If you have a Nandoās /Wagamama budget come here for lunch instead. Itās a pretty spot.
I had salt & chilli squid and pan roasted cod with mussels, truffle and rosemary fries
If you have a Nandoās /Wagamama budget come here for lunch instead. Itās a pretty spot.
I had salt & chilli squid and pan roasted cod with mussels, truffle and rosemary fries
Phoenix Palace, Baker St - my Chinese & Viet friends always take me here, they do good authentic dim sum, but today I had crispy chilli beef, crispy seaweed and salt and chilli squid
The Alchemist, Canary Wharf, think Iāve had too much to drink to even tell you what this tastes like tbh
Rum Kitchen - I only came here by accident because Fishbowl was full
go to fish, wings and tings instead - itās black owned and nicer x

Hawksmoor- One of my fave steak places, dinner was amazing as always, I had the ribeye with fries and mac and cheese
Amazonico Mayfair, easily in the top 3 restaurants Iāve been to this year, beautiful food and decor... we all went for varying steaks and the duck fried rice was amazing!
J Sheekey- this restaurant was disappointing after the recommendations Iāve had, although the scallops were lovely, the shrimp and soft shell crab was meh and the presentation was dull...
Miller & Carter- surprisingly good steak. I had a medium-rare ribeye with bƩarnaise sauce and mac&cheese (they ran out of truffle, sigh)
Viet Grill - for amazing and authentic Vietnamese food youāre spoilt for choice in Hoxton/Old Street area - I had salt and chilli squid, salt and chilli prawns and seafood pho (and a lot of hoisin sauce because itās the best)
Corinthia Hotel London - I only had dinner by accident lol. Average burger and chips, the dessert was quite nice though (treacle tart with vanilla ice cream)
I think I have restaurant fatigue because Dishoom was just.. okay... I had chilli chicken, lamb with ginger, roomali roti, masala prawns, and chicken ruby
But Cecconis in Mayfair on the other hand... beautiful Italian food, really loved the burrata, aubergine and sundried tomato and the spaghetti lobster.. so so good
PF Changās is always a good time, I had dynamite shrimp, Singapore street noodles, sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian beef and shrimp dumplings with a mojito
So @wrappednculture would be proud to know that we restaurant hopped for desert and had gelato from Amorino, I had mango and lemon, so so good
Bob Bob Richard, gorgeous food, really nice decor, perfect date night place, I had lobster mac and cheese and a leg of lamb, also tasted the steak tartare and truffled potato which were amazing
Robata, Soho.. a perfect dinner featuring soft shell crab rolls, chilli pepper squid, kimchi gyozas, king oyster mushroom skewers, j fried chicken bao buns, truffled fries and kimchi rice with nori.
After a short hiatus because Covid came for my family I went to ping pong, after too many authentic yum cha experiences recently I wasnāt very impressed but we move. The ginger cake was nice!
I donāt like repeating restaurants unless they are amazing but my friends like to bully me into taking them out after watching my stories so I ended up back at PF Changās.. again lol
Daphneās was incredible, between us we had scallops with chilli and garlic, buratta with dattorini and focaccia, spaghetti with lobster, fillet of cod with fregola and tiramisu
Flat iron was better my second time around, I had a 300g rib eye (well two actually because they mixed up our orders) with fries, truffle mayonnaise and bƩarnaise sauce.. and free salted caramel ice cream for dessert.
I have to readjust my top 3 restaurants this year because Sticky Mango was elite.. we had black pepper prawns, spicy Thai ribs, chicken & shrimp nam rolls, crab dumplings, twice cooked glazed duck, and truffle egg fried rice.. every single dish was amazing
