This #BlackAugust I wanna talk about voters suppression & the state slavery of prisoners.

2yrs ago Colorado took a step no other state since has taken. Instead of omitting the word state slavery, they took a bold step to end it. 1
This is the only amendment that should be revisited. Roe v. Wade is not the problem but institutional racism & slavery.

Also 13% of African American males can't vote. 8% if both genders are included. Compare to a national average of just over 1% 👇2/ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_turnout_in_the_United_States_presidential_elections
Needs to be addressed.

High conviction rates from the all white jury to the racially biased judges.

Some of these prosecutors choose conservative minority jurors that have problem with their own race.

There's no 1 silver bullet solution but - 4/ 👇

We've got to start from somewhere. Ppl ask a lot from African Americans but what's been done about to end the loop hole in the 14th amendment?

Private prisons & stealth convict leasing is still happening & Florida's disenfranchisement of prisoners aimed at Black people. 5/
Read the links above & you can understand for example how North Carolina's state legislature carried out a race census on voting & changed the first week of early voting thereby bringing down vote of AA by 7% this is serious.

States are the biggest threat not just Putin. 6/
I know this thread is not enough nor will most folks take their timeout to understand the gravity of this situation. If trump wins know is not just Putin's doing there's a lot of FUBAR that's not being addressed.

Far more complex than MAGA vs Resistance. 7/
