Remember there were a couple of burglaries in my street the other week? Well, found out this morning on the street whatsapp group chat that the intruder has not just been apprehended but there’s evidence against them and we have hedgehogs to thank. BEAR WITH ME... 1/

So, Sheena (I know, I always wanna sing “is a punk rocker” when I see her name mentioned on the chat) who is a nice old lady & too tech-phobic to have a smartphone on whatsapp, is apparently a big fan of hedgehogs. BEAR WITH ME... 2/

Sheena & Mr Sheena (who I presume is also a punk rocker, according to the Ramones) love hedgehogs so much they got someone tech-savvy to install a night vision cam in their garden with a trigger. BEAR WITH ME... 3/

On the morning after the second burglary Sheena checks hedgehog cam for lovely footage. Sees no hedgies but the intruder climbing over the back wall from where burglary happened. Gives evidence to police. Person charged. Thanks to a punk rocker & her love of hedgehogs. THE END.

Postscript - since then Sheena has seen hedgehogs on her hedgie cam and other neighbours have seen them too and are considering building little ramps and making gaps in fences for them to get around more easily.
