I really dislike what extreme religion is doing to Yorubaland.

Growing up? Christmas, na all of us go chop Christmas chicken. Salah? Daddy will take us to Alhaji Adetunji's house for jollof and ram meat. Easter? Everybody will do picnic at IITA, Trans Amusement Park or U.I Zoo
You celebrate with me, I celebrate with you. No one took offense. Everybody did what they personally believed in while respecting the others. And if you practiced Trado-Chr-Islam, that was your personal problem. I wasn't afraid of my Muslim friends, they weren't afraid of me
No one called me an infidel & we didn't tell our cousins they were going to hell. We didn't argue over religion, Mohammed, Holy Spirit. Everybody in the family chose their God while respecting others. We went for weddings, namings, burials. Muslim or Christian Rites, we went
I hate how that Ilorin brand of Islam slowly took over. I hate the Pentecostal "Us vs Them" Rhetoric that grew. I hate the teachings like "You are dressing like those godless infidels" that eventually swallowed up my female acquaintances & erased their personalities & friendships
I hate the rubbish going to mosques to tell them they are going to hell. I hate the quiet and not so quiet violence that has become the norm. This is not us. Let the people with violent cultures who have imbibed it into their worship keep their violence. Don't let it become us
I also hate the Jihad by marriage they taught Yoruba boys. Before, you could marry a Yoruba boy who was a Muslim and he'd leave you to worship your Jesus. Now, it is Jihad by marriage. Pretending to be open and forcing your wife to convert. That's not how it used to be
