Worth remembering that @piersmorgan's ignorance is as much or more a part of driving this current "only women have cervixes" nonsense than Rosie Duffield.
One of the things that's very very clear about both the commentary media class and politicians is their joint lack of interest in actually finding evidence and drawing on expertise before putting their beliefs out in public. This is dangerous - they have authority but no sense.
As I've said repeatedly - there is no significant disagreement among serious experts, scientists, researchers on any of these topics.
There is a unilateral disinterest among media platform gatekeepers to put forward the facts on important issues when they can fake up a debate.

This isn't just happening with @piersmorgan, it's happening with media coverage of "ROGD" allegations and JK Rowling's conspiracy theory accounts of trans healthcare completely at odds with standard scientific consensus in the mental health sector. https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/political-minds/202007/jk-rowling-and-the-chamber-trans-youth-misinformation
Ruth Pearce, who's entire career has been built on researching trans experiences of healthcare has far more information in this thread here, on the specifics of the problems created by Piers Morgan's and Rosie Duffield's statements https://twitter.com/NotRightRuth/status/1289834567063359488?s=19
With respect to stuff I've been saying recently about toxic forms of allyship, I think one thing people need to be aware of is that uninformed support for trans people is also not helping - too often people coming to our defence fail to go to the effort of clearly stating facts.
