Veritas Odit Moras – ‘Truth hates delay’. A Roman saying that’s very apt to describe the often overlooked background of Jagmohan Malhotra. He was a morally bereft, islamaphobic and had a penchant for seeing people suffer. The devil incarnate is a accurate definition. THREAD.

1/ His first task given to him by the Gandhi’s in ‘75 was the destruction of Muslim houses in the name of “slum clearing” in Delhi. He went about this with utter callousness and Sanghi dedication. He even infamously destroyed the home of a muslim mother that gave birth that day.

2/ When activists pleaded with him on a visit to this office he famously thundered “We will do what we want. We won’t allow a second Pakistan here”. He left not one house standing. On one occasion he even ordered firing on Muslims civilians that stood in the way. His first blood.

3/ This incident at Turkman gate laid bare his true character. He always held a private and intense disdain for Kashmir and Kashmiri Muslims. He soon got his chance to act on it. Stooge Abdullah was booted out and Governor Jagmohan came in ‘84. He soon got started.

4/ As soon as he landed he reached out to the ecstatic and willing partners amongst the Kashmiri Pandit community. The Sanghi Kashmiri Pandits were appointed everywhere, not that they weren’t already over represented anyway. But they monopolised everything further still.

5/ One of the infamous actions during this tenure was the banning of beef. Whilst ridiculous laws existed before, no one bothered to enforce them before him. Qazi Nisar becomes a household name for defying them in Islamabad. This partly gave rise to the Muslim United Front.

6/ His islamaphobic nature was the reason he was appointed again in ‘90. Even before he arrived 19 Jan ‘90 he sent out messages to his contacts that he made previously in his earlier stint. This included pandit leaders like Raj Bhavan. He ominously informed him of the plan.

7/ Immediately, they encouraged and told the pandits to leave. They were told of the plan to massacre KMs. and judge yourself based on this admission. Facilities for migration and panic were promptly created. Of course, they expected this to take only days not what we see now.

8/ Days after the pandits left, the security forces indiscriminately opened fire killing over 100 unarmed protestors in what was to become known as the Gawkadal massacre. This was followed by Handwara, Hawal and Zakoora & Tengpora massacre of unarmed, peaceful protesters.

9/ After international uproar, the occupation government removed him to assuage mounting pressure. He bitterly complained of “Muslim appeasement” and that he was just “getting started”. Jagmohan was duly rewarded with a seat in Rajya Sabha. He continued to still court controversy

10/ He is a personal friend and associate of Dyananad Pandey, alias Swami Amritanand, the controversial seer accused in the Malegaon Bomb blast case.

11/ In the past veteran Journalists like Kuldip Nayar, Balraj Puri, Brij Bhardwaj to name a few have accused Jagmohan as a person responsible for migration mainly on the ground of providing uninterrupted transport to pandits during the curfewed days and nights that were imposed.

12/ It needs to be stated here that when the committee for initiative on Kashmir formed in the early 90s confronted Governor Jagmohan with the hard evidence of providing transport and other facilties to migrants, he claimed that it was “not the State policy”.

13/ However, he did admit that government officials did this on a “private capacity”. Thus, to blame the sinless Kashmir Muslims for this tragedy is absolute figment of imagination. Jagmohan needs to be held accountable in a UN warcrime tribunal just as Milosovic, Mladic,Karadzic

14/ Young Kashmiri muslims like me that were born post exodus need to be armed with the truth and not fall for the propaganda of “Kashmiri Pandit genocide” emotional blackmail to continue the occupation. We won’t stand for it anymore. History can’t be Saffronised in 21st century.
