Today I was at pavilion and this old indian man was outside selling tissues and facemasks. A Malay guy went up to him and demanded to see his IC and threatened to call the police. The indian man said “I don’t need to show you anything. You’re not authority. I am a citizen-
-of this country!” And the Malay man was literally about to beat him. I pulled uncle away and told uncle to not give a shit to people like that, and that they’ll pick on us because they think they’re better than us just cuz they’re Malay.-
-Uncle told me this isn’t the first time someone has attacked him in public for just selling tissues. He told me people bully him because he’s indian.
My fellow cinababis and indian fwends, if you see an old indian man selling tissues and face masks for RM1 outside pavilion across the street from the fountain, please buy some from him, it’s literally RM1. Minorities need to stick together.
And if you ever see someone bullying him, stand up for him, right hook someone if necessary. He’s a citizen of this country and he deserves to be treated like one.
I see a lot of angry Malay people are trying to get me arrested under the grounds of fake news and inciting racial hatred. I’m trying to shed light on ethnic discrimination towards minorities but sure stay within your privileged bubble.
A few people have pointed out that I am generalizing Malay people and demonizing them. I’d like to formally apologize for not phrasing it better but let me clarify this is a singular incident I’m using to shed light on ethnic discrimination and it is not trying to paint Malays-
-in any bad light. Anyone of any background is capable of good and bad but in this case the man in question was undoubtedly, bad.
