we, as white people, are in no way shape or form supposed to speak on behalf of poc. we are not eligible to tell them when to feel offended or not. yes you might have your own ideology or sumn, but keep it to yourself and try to educate yourself. kneeling should be happening bc
it is a move that directly shows alliance and support to poc. you're showing to millions of people that you are by their side and that you're fighting for a better tomorrow. maybe poc would be able to "excuse" the not kneeling if the drivers werent ignorant and were using their
huge platforms to spread awareness. but guess what. they are ignorant and not kneeling. the worst combination. so never tell a poc that "kneeling is irrelevant". kneeling is never irrelevant and it shows a lot. and the culture excuse isnt always an actual excuse tbh...
kneeling is considered controversial in my culture too due to historical factors and people still do it. from what ive seen, the only driver that's excused is dani bc it is an ongoing situation. dont use your culture as an excuse to be racist, ignorant and not bettering yourself
personally what bothers me the most is 95% the not kneeling and 5% the ignorance, the fact that they choose not to get educated and try to make a change (but again it doesnt matter what bothers me tbh). this is white privilege. the fact that you can choose not to care about
racism is white privilege. so please. do not defend them. do not talk before poc. you should just be using your voice to help strengthen their voice. bc they are not heard enough unfortunately. dont bring them down. try helping them and bettering yourself in the process.
im probably gonna be writing this again later bc i feel like this a mess im sorry i just woke up and im trying
