I hate the Twitch channel UI. Just. So much. It is fucked.
I loved you, MIxer, but your channel UI was like a circus. Looks like Twitch is following suit. Shit is everywhere and behind extra clicks for no reason. Why do y'all make it so hard to find stuff and, in my case, do my job as an influencer relations manager seeking out creators.
Why do I have to click on this avatar (or name) to access vods, channel info, etc.? Why the fuck is this UI soup on the right?
I don't know how, but sometimes this is what I see when I go to a channel. It's also what I see when I click on their avatar trying to find their goddamn info. Why is mute this tiny shit on the left? Why is the default Home view Videos? Why does shit slide everywhere?
Why are the vod/clip carousel's left/right buttons ON TOP of the thumbnails, sometimes damn near invisible, making it easy to accidentally click on the thumbnail itself? Then when you hit Back, it's scrolled back up to top.
Why is there so much shit to click on in so many different places?
What the hell is this random flavour bar halfway down the page that looks like a scrollbar, but isn't?
Am I following? I don't fucking know. Because when you hover over the GREY heart, it says Unfollow (which means I WAS following), but when you hover over the GREY bell, it says Turn notifications ON. WHY.
Well, I guess with all this info on-screen, I can at least see how many followers they have. NOPE. It's behind his fucking avatar/name, which then slides shit around for no reason into a totally different view I never asked for.
Oh, good, I can pop the chat out into its own window by clicking on this universal icon for opening shit in its own window/tab. NOPE. It just goes back to the default channel view. WHY would you jebait me with that extra arrow and call it CHAT?
Who asked for an animated viewer counter and stream time clock under a VIDEO by DEFAULT? Yes, let's give viewers more focus on channel performance while the channel is still live.
Why am I being so abrasive about this? Because a big part of my job is literally checking out streams and YouTube videos. These changes have been in place for months. I know there's a pandemic now, but why were they made in the first place? I'm FRUSTRATED. https://twitter.com/seriouslyclara/status/1289851375287824385?s=09
