African Americans really think their critique of #BlackIsKing is more important than the interpretations of the countless African people who actually enjoyed it. They are convinced we enjoy it because we don’t know any better. Patronizing much?!

They swear their readings on what Africa is allows them to discredit us, actual Africans, about our lived experience of what we know Africa to be. From them telling us our cultures and customs are just an esthetic to them thinking everyone here is dark skinned... it’s just a mess

They’ve been so loud & wrong and refuse to listen. For people who hate it when others hijack their stories, they sure are doing a great job at hijacking ours & being condescending in the process by thinking they know better than us and that we need.
