When someone suffers from depression they go through something called depressive episodes. You’re fine for a while but out of no where you fall back into that dark pit again for 1-2 weeks

If you know someone with depression you LITERALLY need patience. Depression is not like sadness which you can recover from easily. Certain things may trigger the person to experience their pain/trauma all over & then they can’t stop feeling depressed for so long.

Stop expecting people you know with depression to magically heal and laugh and joke around with you. It’s not that easy. Also don’t assume someone is okay because they don’t talk about/show/display their troubles and pain. Respect everyone the same.
4/4
If they need space give it. If they need to talk to someone, offer to listen.
People tend to act irrationally during depressive episodes, so please recognise nothing is deliberate if they do push you away or remove themselves from certain situations without explanation.
