Anyone want to try an experiment? I just took this photo with an iPhone showing the moon, Jupiter and Saturn. If I can get some volunteers elsewhere in the world to do the same thing maybe we can get enough baseline to measure lunar parallax using smartphone cameras.
Just take an image and then share the picture and location. Only thing is the images need to be near simultaneous. It’s 4 AM UTC now, can we try in 30 minutes and then an hour?
Ideally, you want to minimize the bloom on the moon by making the exposure as low as possible, but still high enough exposure to pick up saturn.
You can follow @DJSnM.
