Exactly How I Got Recruited (a thread):
- developed developed developed, average 10u team/amazing female head coach, good families, lots of play for 6 months, 13th at western B nationals
- Played catch, watched softball, dreamt big, @OregonSB camps
2/ Local team grew a ton despite Eugene Thunder not being a hotspot/PNW
- @ondecksoftball PNW region camp 7th grade
- played big tournaments, did well
- Marist HS won state b2b 2007/2008, MVP + all-state
3/ Self shot skills video 8th/9th grade
- sent out 80 DVDs, emails everrryday FR/SO yr
-invited to @ondecksoftball national camp, 60 top coaches + 60 invitees
- pitched well + dropped 13 tanks in BP
- this was the catalyst, went from watchlists to...
4/ 5 unofficial visits
- @Firecrackersinc Rico dream team 2010/11
- verbal commit to @Stanford SO yr depend on test scores, performance, + application JR yr
- nerdy, focused, applied - accepted!
- official visit SR yr
5/ Everyone has their own recruiting journey - it happens at different times + ways.

The keys - develop, be proactive, contact coaches, ball out, video if, get good grades, repeat.
6/ Between these positive events were
- burnout/injuries
- doubt/lack of confidence
- late nights
- several years of mostly relief pitching, playing up
- sitting the bench while learning a lot
- trying out for teams I didn’t make
- crap ton of work
KEEP GOING
