Do you want to know why some people get lucky while others seem to never catch a break?

I wondered too. For a long time. Then I observed my luckiest friend to figure it out.

Thread:
Luck alluded me for a long time. In fact, I still find myself doubting what I now know. It doesn't make sense that "luck" is something you can make happen.

It turns out, you have total control.
The realization came when I heard @naval talk about luck and I decided to put his concepts to the test by watching my friend in action.

When he had a challenge he ALWAYS seemed to catch a break. HOW!?
It turned out he always did the same things. He always faced every situation the same.

His consistent approach brought him consistent LUCK. I couldn't believe it.

Here are the steps he takes to always get lucky...
Step 1) Be prepared to get lucky.
This one seemed strange to me. Luck is lucky! It can happen to the prepared or unprepared. False. If you are not ready to get lucky, you wont.
If you are walking down the street and see a $100 and pick it up, you were ready by not having your nose in your phone. Being distracted will kill your ability to be lucky!

When a business opportunity comes along, you can be ready by having $$$ and time. Then you take step 2.
Step 2) Take action.
Really? Why should you DO something in order to be lucky? Back to the money on the street. You had to pick it up. If you were too scared to pick it up, you weren't lucky. You were a wimp.
When an opportunity comes, strike. Don't wait. Don't wonder. Don't pass go, collect $200, then do it. ACT NOW.

My friend is always ready for something to happen. When he sees something beneficial, he ACTS. No hesitation.
Now some people say, "your friend isn't getting lucky" and maybe they are right.

But I have watched him "have a lucky break" more often than everyone else I know. Combined.

Lost a job? He finds a better one. Needs a new client? His old client sends him a new one.
On and on it goes.

Luck isn't like getting struck by lighting. It's more like fishing. Get ready by going to the lake and tossing in your line. Act when you get a bite and reel it in.

It really is as easy as that.

What area of your life will you be lucky?
