not rly a super good drawing but here is mrs marigold soursprocket! I’ll share some info about her cuz she is epic and important
she is a skilled programmer and mechanic and worked closely with the toon council, they were always looking for silly contraptions and gizmos to entertain them and other toons with! toons dont need to eat or drink, but they need to stay happy, so she was beloved by the town!
for a while she’d had a big project in mind, something that could keep toons happy forever. she wanted to build a robot that could think and act just like a toon, to the point where it wasn’t just a bunch of metal parts anymore, but like a person!
she would spend months in her workshop bc she was so invested. sometimes her girlfriend would worry abt her. but after a long time, she eventually finished her project and showed the council and all of the town the first living robot, charlie soursprocket!
he was specifically made to cheer up toons to the happiest they can be, and it seemed to have worked! there was never a sad toon seen around him. all marigold’s hard work had paid off. it only made her even more beloved in the town
everyone was surprised at how alive he seemed. he acted just like a real toon, nothing like a robot. the council thought nothing like that could ever be made, but it wasn’t a surprise marigold made the first one, with how talented she was!
after abt a year, something started to seem off. charlie was a bit too smart. it was normal for him to talk nonstop about his thoughts and ideas, but some of his ideas were a bit “untoony”,he would tell marigold he didn’t understand why toons cared so much about teamwork and such
like, why didn’t any of them want all the sillyness and laff for themselves? wouldn’t it be more fun to have all of the good things to yourself? when marigold heard such talk she became worried she had made a mistake with his programming. toons always looked out for eachother,
so why would he have ideas that went against the toon’s friendship-based lives? as time went on he would seem to get more strange. he would act as if he was hiding something, and would be in marigolds workshop much of the time.
eventually, marigold caught him by surprised, and found out he had been building robots using his own blueprints and spare parts around the workshop. they were only metal skeletons, and were rickety and fragile when compared to charlie, but to a toon they were still much stronger
after being found out, charlie stopped hiding his plans. he told her that he was planning to make mayor flippy himself go sad, so he could take his place and shape toontown to his own ideals. marigold and her girlfriend pancake tried to stop him, but
little low laff toons like them from those days were no match for three big metal robots, no matter how shoddily built they were. none of the toons were strong enough to stop him, and his plan to take over succeeded :c
for a very long time, maybe even years, the toons lived similar to how cogs live in the current toontown. they worked in offices and factories to build more cogs. it was miserable! the toons were never happy. some of them even forgot what it was like to not be sad.
they couldn’t stand to go much longer in a gloomy smoggy world like that, so former mayor flippy and his right hand man mr lowden clear conspired with the other toons to try and storm toon hall and destroy the three cogs there to end it all for good!
when the day came and their plan was put to the test, it worked better than they thought! the cogs were taken by surprise and were damaged beyond repair. the ones that were left didn’t dare to try to stop the toons, and what is current day toontown was taken back for good!
the cogs escaped to the outskirts of the town, and kept building up their cities until there was a border of smog all around toontown. and unfortunately, the toons had failed to completely destroy charlie and his two friends. the box where all their thoughts and “self” were
were still working! they were able to have their skeletons remade by the factory workers, with much better mechanics. they didn’t try to invade toontown again, and instead kept growing their polluting cities until all the world was taken over by them, except for the small town.
gooby and candy don’t come into the story until MUCH later, like, over sixty years later. but in between that time it’s pretty much how u would imagine it, lots of fighting with pies and stuff :3 I think that is all my backstory for now LOL
