It’s taken me decades with an anxiety disorder & lots of therapy to believe it but some of you experiencing uncertainty at this scale for the 1st time need to hear it:

Guessing what bad news is coming doesn’t make it any less hurtful or scary. Getting ahead of it is an illusion.
Guessing all the possible bad news is a core tenet of struggling with uncertainty under an anxiety disorder, and it becomes disordered when it impacts your everyday life & gets in the way.

A pandemic will thrust a lot of people into this disordered pattern for the 1st time.
BE GENTLE WITH YOURSELF, listen to your friends who have a bit more experience with it than you do, make an appointment to talk to your GP about it and get your free mental health plan to understand more about it.

Accepting uncertainty is my life’s struggle, and that’s okay ❤️
But in the spirit of harm prevention for the rest of us with anxiety disorders please stop publicly guessing what’s going to happen. Stop sharing guesses and unsourced info. You’re literally making us unable to function for the day just so you can feel good if you’re right 😕
We literally have worksheets and folders to work through when we recognise we’ve fallen into spirals. I have to do homework all day because you want to feel ahead of the story.

I’m here to tell you with love that you’ll find no comfort there, and that it’s hurting people.
