Yesterday at 1pm when Boris announced that wedding reception dinners wouldn’t go ahead for another two weeks....
What this means in simple terms.

- A marquee team would have been hammering in the tent poles when the news broke.
- A photographer/videographer will have travelled to a hotel for the night. To find out they’re not needed, and their service will drop from enough to support them for the month, to not enough.

- A florist will have woken at 4am for the flower markets to pick up flowers no longer needed.
- Bar staff will have been gearing up for their first work in 6 months. The venue will have hired, and likely paid staff to be in. If not, then those staff members again

will have zero and told not to come in.
- A planner will have been finalising the last adjustments for the ‘new normal’ wedding reception
- An MUA would have been cleaning, sterilising their equipment, ready to help someone feel special on their wedding day.

- A venue will have hired back their team. Taken them off furlough.
- The caterers will have been at the wholesaler picking up everything needed for the guests.
- Cake makers will have already have made the cake fir the weekend wedding.

So... 1pm this was announced.
That gave couples 4-5hours to replan their whole wedding (those planned between today and 14th August).
So, they need to talk to approx 6+ suppliers. To break bad news that they’re no longer needed.

Couples would have also needed to call friends and family to notify them that they won’t be celebrating beyond the ceremony.
The only teams that’s could still go ahead on a ‘normal’ existing plan:
Church
Reg Office
Hair dresser
Reduced hours photographer/videographer

When I put up a post that says ‘fuck boris’.
It’s for the 4 hours notice he gave to cancel services... from people who were already gearing up, who had already started their services.
Who will now earn nothing.

Couples will now lose money on flowers, marquees/tipis etc.
Couples within the next two weeks either proceed without the planned reception. Or, they have to AGAIN find a date, and these people have likely moved 3+ times already.

When the news broke, we had less than 24 hours to figure things out.
The government will NOT be giving compensation to all those still with no work.
This is why I am angry.

How come pubs, restaurants, retail stores can remain open with ZERO change. But, a business sector that hasn’t even had a chance to reopen has been shut down.
Barbers remain open with NO CHANGE, But beauticians were halted in their tracks, even though they haven’t contributed to
